Urban Sustainability and Climate Issues: The Effect of Physical Parameters of Streetscape on the Thermal Comfort in Urban Public Spaces; Case Study: Karimkhan-e-Zand Street, Shiraz, Iran

One of the most important issues in urban studies relating to climate and environmental sustainability is analysis thermal conditions public spaces, especially streets, since this issue seems affect comfort citizens using such spaces. Thus, main aim present study investigate effect streetscape parameters on streets a hot summer semi-arid climate. For purpose, Karimkhan-e-Zand Street Shiraz, Iran, was selected as case study. The street historical popular space Shiraz. In study, physical micro-climatic data analyzed ENVI-met v4 software, Shiraz 10 July were simulated during hottest day year. Furthermore, relationships between their effects index (PMV) investigated through running set regressions STATA 14 output maps. results show that citizens, which determined by PMV values, very poor condition almost all studied hours, air temperature has greatest compared other index. also significant relationship sky view factor mean radiant temperature, well surface albedo relative humidity. type vegetation aspect ratio level increase street.
